12 chaotic hours for good: The Imitation Gamers take Midnight Madness 2025

The Turner Kirk Trust team, 'The Imitation Gamers', navigated London through the night of the 13th-14th September, competing against 17 teams as part of the immersive Midnight Madness 2025 challenge. The team took the event by storm for the 5th successive year in London, this time coming in second place with 104 points on the board by 7 am.

Midnight Madness is an annual event that blends a series of mind-bending and intricate puzzles with an immersive storyline. Teams race through London by night, cracking codes, uncovering clues, and solving puzzles in a journey to the finish line, all in the name of raising money for Raise Your Hands.

This year's event was cinema and films themed, with the teams taking part in classic movie-themed puzzles and challenges, culminating at a cinema in Leicester Square, with the participants watching a movie trailer of themselves completing the adventure.

The 17 competing teams raised an impressive total of over £580,000 for Raise Your Hands, a charitable organisation which supports small, specialist charities working for the benefit of young people experiencing hardship across the UK.

Since launching, Midnight Madness London has raised over £3 million for deserving causes. The event is based on its highly successful namesake that took place in New York in 2015 and raised $3.1 million for charity. Ewan was instrumental in bringing the event to London in 2018.

"An intense intellectual challenge combined with a gruelling physical challenge. Solving complex puzzles at 5 am in the morning might be a little bit of a niche activity, but we all love it."
Dr. Ewan Kirk, Co-founder of the Turner Kirk Trust
